Summer Camp

It's Time!!! Summer Camp Registration opens on February 1st, 2024 for members, and February 15th, 2024 for nonmembers! Campers attending our summer camp will have an amazing time experiencing farm life through hands-on activities, spending time with our farm animals, getting their hands dirty in our educational gardens, and working around the farm.Every week is sure to include spending time with our baby goats, sheep, chickens, baby rabbits and holding our baby chicks, turkeys, and geese, woodworking, hayrides, harvesting, cooking with recipes that are inspired by what is growing in our gardens.

PROGRAM

Apprentice Program

This unique six-month program (May-October) is for students currently in grades 5-12. Apprentices meet three days a week to plant, maintain and harvest the farm’s educational gardens, and work with Farmer Jonathan in the production gardens. They also care for our rabbits, goats, sheep, chickens and other animals. Director of Programming, Kevin Meehan, manages the program to ensure that apprentices work collaboratively to assist in all aspects of the farm, including teaching younger children about farm activities.

Junior Apprentice Program

This program is designed for children in grades K-2 (Tues) or grades 3-5 (Weds) who are interested in learning more about how the natural world and the farm come together through hands on learning and engaging activities, crafts, and games. This is a 4 week program running from April 2ne through May 1st. We will not run the week of April 15th Wilton's spring break.

PROGRAM

My Sprout + Me Late Spring

My Sprout and Me is a 4 week program designed for caregivers and children ages 1-4 years old to experience the farm together in a community setting. This program runs from April 22 through May 22nd. With Ambler Farm Educators, caregivers and their "sprouts" will help feed the animals, enjoy tractor rides, and participate in enriching group activities. This program meets on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 10am-11:30am. Feel free to sign up for one or both days!

PROGRAM

Sheep Shearing + Hiving of the Bees

Our resident sheep, Ben and Jerry, will have their wool shorn at 11:00am in preparation for the warmer weather. This event is free and open to the public. Director of Programming, Kevin Meehan, will be hiving our honeybees the same day. Please join us to learn more about beekeeping and the important role honeybees play. No registration is required. Donations are always welcome.

Order soon to ensure your favorite varieties are available for your home garden!

Order your transplants online and pickup in mid-April for cold hardy crops and mid-May for warm weather crops (dates to be announced).  We have a wide variety of crops available for order online.  If you would like to know the last dates for ordering vegetables and herbs online you may click on the link above. Our transplants are grown in our greenhouse from seed in an organic, compost based, biologically-active potting soil and tended to by your friendly farmers.  If you have any questions please e-mail jonathan@amblerfarm.org.
